Hello Kittens
As I’m still recovering from the vast amount of peopling that I did while in South Dakota (it was so much fun, but boy was it a lot of socializing for me!), I’ve been a bit of a hermit these past couple of weeks. While recovering and gearing up to people all over again in both September and October, I have been revisiting shows that I like to watch and old favorite books that both get my muse hopping and my brain relaxing. Sounds like an oxymoron, it’s not.
As I imagine you all know, I read a ton of PNR. I love me some bear shifters, a good alien romance, and if there are motorcycles, then all the better. I cut my teeth on the likes of TS Joyce and Ruby Dixon, and moved through Omegaverse books and into Reverse Harem, and beyond. But when I’m struggling, tired and need a good boost, I will forever go back to Ruby’s Ice Planet Barbarians and TS’s Damon’s Mountains series. They are comforting like coming home after a long time away.
While I write contemporary paranormal romance, and consume tons of it, when it comes to television I like reality—not reality tv, no thank you, I mean real people being actual real people. My favorite show on tv is The Great British Baking Show. Why? I find it soothing. It’s a bunch of people competing against each other, but also being caring, compassionate and helpful at the same time. It also calls to my inner sweet tooth 🤭. I am also hopelessly addicted to chateau youtube channels, my top two being The Chateau Diaries—I just love the energy and enthusiasm that Stephanie has for life—and Escape to Rural France. They’re both just enough removed from the reality that I live every day, that they’re an amazing form of escapism, but they’re also real, mostly drama free and unscripted.
I would love to hear from all of you what your favorite shows, movies, books and crafting projects bring light to your souls. Leave me a comment, I may just have to check them out myself!
XOXO,
Kat

Where is Blood Moon headed?
The Blood Moon Coven spans from one side of the country to the other, creating order for the hidden magic world. But when things start to go sideways, it's the Nomad Chapter who take the forefront of a war that could change the face of the supernatural world forever.
On the hunt for dark witches fleeing with a dangerous book of magic, Blood Moon can't afford distractions. And that includes a moment of respite with a shiny new mate. Good thing Doc is positive that possibility has passed. Nothing could prepare him for what the goddess has in store.
Finding the mate you never expected in the midst of war is a test of conviction and fortitude–something Doc and Nora have in spades. They must learn to believe in the wisdom of the goddess–and that they deserve the fierce promise of love that has been offered to them–in spite of all the obstacles.
Who’s ready for some book signings?
This year, I am fortunate enough to get to go to two more amazing signing events! I can’t wait to get to meet more of my readers, and get some face time with my author and reader friends who live much too far away. I loved seeing everyone at Deadwood!
GETTING WITCHY WITH IT:
and I will be attending GWWI for the second time this year, and we will be accompanied by and our PAs Sara and Debra as well. This is a FREE event, but of course you can get VIP tickets for an enhanced experience. It will take place at the Boston Marriot Peabody, and Mariah, Shelly and I will be signing on Saturday September 14th. Any information you could need for the event will be on the Anytime Author Promotions website and my preorder for this event is HERE. This year, unfortunately I will not get the amazing experience of driving from Illinois to Mass (not sarcastic, I really loved the road trip we took last year) and thus will have a limited number of books! Please preorder.BOOKS BY THE ARCH:
On October 5th I will be signing at Books by the Arch in St. Louis Missouri on my own. I will of course have my lovely PA Sara with me (who I am more than grateful for, cause I’m not the world’s best peopler when it comes to large crowds—I promise I want to talk to you all! I just freak out a bit.) You can find tickets for this event HERE and more information on the event itself HERE and if you want to preorder books from me you can do so HERE. This is a hometown event for me, so I’m likely to have a good number of books on the day, but if you want to ensure you get specific books, please preorder (and they come with extra swag when you do!).
WHO WANTS A FREE BOOK?!?
This year I have gotten together with some of the very best in Paranormal Romance, to be able to offer my readers a free book each and every month.
WHAT?
Yes. A free book from some of my favorite authors will be available in my first of the month news letter.
One with the Wolf
Gia:
Heat. It’s a challenge to all women of Lycan blood. It creates an urge to breed or allow yourself to be claimed as a mate. The fact is, I have zero desire to be tied down. I have hopes, dreams, and goals that certainly don’t include having some random guy’s pup all because of biology. So when it hits me I hop on the subway and head to my favorite place, the museum. Surely I’ll be safe there.
Jenson:
I needed a break. As CEO of Kincaid Corporation and Alpha of my pack, I rarely have time for myself. So I did what any other upstanding boss would do, donned a disguise, downed a few drinks, and hopped on the subway for some carefree fun. Then the intoxicating scent of a she-wolf in heat hits me. Convincing her I won’t leave her with an unwanted pup is one thing—the lingering effect she has on me is another. But after narrowly escaping binding myself to her, I find out my struggles aren’t over.
She’s the newest software designer coming to work for me.
BOOKFAIRS
Every month, I drop a couple of books into a bookfunnel promo. My lovely friend
TK Eldridge has been running them once a month, and I love getting to see all the new authors, finding new favorites, and getting to share them with you.
If you could, please click the link, it helps me so much, and maybe you’ll discover something amazing as well.
Glad you've been getting some time to relax and recharge!
My go-to is m/m romance novels. I tend to favor contemporary romance in real-world settings, but magical realism or paranormal aspects are good too. I particularly like stories about recovery and healing and characters taking care of one another. One of my favorites that I revisit often is "Between Sinners and Saints" by Marie Sexton.
For TV, most of what I watch anymore is movie reactions on YouTube. It's fun to try and recapture the "first time" experience again through another person. But another comfort show of mine is the anime CardCaptor Sakura. It's about a young elementary-aged girl who finds out she has magical abilities and has to capture these magical forces in the form of cards. It's sometimes exciting with the magic (and was so cool when I was younger and wished I could be magical--the nostalgia is strong), but as an adult in particular, it's just a really sweet, gentle show about friendship, perseverence, love, support, and doing your best. It's good for when you just need things to not be too bad/hard and know everything will be alright.
Tera was my first shifter author.. I still get giddy anytime I see 1010 anywhere.. absolutely love her! I watch organizing videos to relax, which is weird because cleaning isn’t relaxing to do but to watch it? *Chef’s kiss* I’m so excited for what’s next from you.. love you friend! 🩶
