Hello Kittens!
November came in like a lion, and has been roaring ever since. What do I mean by that? Well, this month has gone about as smoothly as the rest of 2023. From frost to heat wave, one illness in the family to another, and oh yeah, the water heater decided to spring a leak last night.
Am I letting all of that get me down? A little. Let’s be 100% honest here. This year has been a bit of a rocky road, and not the fun kind with chocolate and marshmallows. That being said, I’m still trucking along.
I’m gearing up for the epic marathon that will be 2024. With three different book signings, more books planned than I can reasonably write (but I do try every year!) and some super secret projects that are being prepped, next year is going to be very full. It’ll be very full, but also super fun. I get to spend time with some of my favorite people, including teaming up again with my book wife and bestie
at Getting Witchy With It in Salem again next September, and meeting up with her in Deadwood South Dakota for Wild Deadwood Reads. And rounding it all out back home in St. Louis at Books Under the Arch. I hope some of you can make it out, I love meeting readers! But there will be more on all of that later.Writing is going about as can be expected with the lingering affects of COVID still playing merry havoc with my brain. Mostly just fatigue, the brain fog has all but cleared up, which hopefully means I’ll be back to fighting form in a few weeks! (Just in time for the holiday season, yay…) I am determined to get Whisper out to you all before the end of the year, so keep those eyes open.
Last time we did a little poll to see what I would write about for my first flash fiction piece in more than a year… Shifters won (I’m kinda not surprised). So, look out for a shifter story at the end of the December 1st Newsletter.
All told, I’m doing fine. My kids are amazing, and my beautiful friends are absolutely amazing as always.
What’s in this Edition:

Whisper’s struggle with her animal, who is too dominant, and her mate, who wants to love her in a way her broken mind doesn’t understand.
You can't shove shifters back into their little box once a woman turns into a raging grizzly in the middle of downtown. The human world was about to be turned upside-down.
Whisper never thought her life would be so good. Living with LOKI, safe and sound from the horrors of her childhood and working as a tattoo artist with her best friend and savior Les was a dream come true. But that dream quickly turns into a nightmare when Paradigm stampedes into Ironwood on the back of dragons and monsters. Kidnapped and thrown into a cage in the depths of an underground facility, Whisper has lost hope. With each passing moment she slips further into her mind, letting her animal–Frigga–take charge to keep the fragile human from falling apart.
Theron (Scar) Aetos has been hiding in plain sight his entire life. There wasn’t ever much choice, when you’re the last of your kind. His animal–Scar–was his only companion. He thought all was lost when he was captured by Paradigm, but that all changed as he was tossed into a cell with his fated mate. Except something is very wrong with the mercurial eyed Whisper, and Theron just can’t work it out. Putting his trust in her may just be his complete undoing as they are both shoved into the limelight when her grizzly comes tearing out of her skin.
Will they be able to escape the sudden celebrity and make space for their mating? Can Whisper come out of her shell and accept the man who claims to love her above all others? And what happens once the lights fade? Can humanity handle the knowledge that their myths and legends have really been lurking in the shadows the entire time?
Book Signings 2024!
I’m attending three events next year! I can’t explain how excited I am to meet readers, my author friends, and all the people who make this industry amazing. I do have preorders set up already, of course any and all new books will be added as they are released. I will be at Deadwood with Mariah Thayer and Getting Witchy With It with Mariah Thayer, Miri Stone and Shelly Ferguson. I will be solo for Books by the Arch. If you’re able to attend any (or all) of these events, I would be so happy to meet you. If you see me, don’t hesitate to come up and say hi, I promise I’m way more awkward than you are!
