Hello Kittens!
Anyone know where the year has gone? Seriously, it can’t be December. I mean, I just got back from Getting Witchy With It two weeks ago, right?
No? It was two months.
Fuck me.
Besides the year flying by and making my head spin, I really have been doing a ton of stuff. I’ve of course been writing and being a mom, but what has gotten my creative juices flowing lately? Getting back into cover design. And it’s all thanks to my lovely and beautiful friend
, who’s early Hanukah present sparked a blast of inspiration that has been literally keeping me up at night. As some of you all know, I love graphics. I love making the, looking at them, talking about different styles and techniques. I spend my hour drive to take the tiniest to school every day looking at billboards and seeing how they use text and fonts. Let’s just say I’m a total nerd when it comes to how things are visually put together.
I started making covers for myself to bridge the hurdle of cost when I first started writing and releasing books. And over time, I started making covers and other marketing graphics for friends, because it was fun. Now, with the urging of my friends, I’m toying with the idea of selling them. Soon… ish.
But, that’s what’s been ruling the few hours I have everyday of umph. Let’s just say that COVID fucking sucks, and leave it there. I got it in early October, and I’m still feeling it.
Anyway… Before I get into the nitty gritty of it all. Please enjoy a few samples of my work.
XOXO,
Kat

I’m so excited to get back to the page with my first book wife, Getting to sit down and write a series that we are both passionate about has been a fucking dream. Interstellar Dragon Mates has been brewing for a while, but life has kept us from digging our teeth in for far too long.
When the first book in the series—Bartender Mate—hit shelves, our combined creative juices just wouldn’t quit, and before our individual vacations took us from Valhalla’s Pass and our dragons, we had already banged out nearly the first half of this amazing book. Life has gotten in the way a bit again (ie COVID), but this beast of a book baby will be hitting shelves before you know it!
Samantha had always known she’d go her own way. Growing up in the rigid Still Waters Coven in Valhalla’s Pass felt too restrictive in ways she couldn’t quite put into words. Which was ironic given she was a scribe, a rare form of very precise but powerful word magic based on the ancient art of hieroglyphics.
But when the Stellar Misfits Motorcycle Club come crash landing into her sanctuary, Valhalla’s Pass Library, determined to run off the deadly Drakon Hunters MC, she realizes her world is about to change.
As the Stellar Misfits numbers are bolstered by a fresh shipment of space-faring Vikings, Samantha suddenly finds herself confronted by a new truth. Not only is she destined to help the Drakons protect their human mates, she has been fated by the stars to her own alien hotties in leather.
Only problem is, her ancient magic refuses to let her get close to them. The longer she fails to secure their bond, the more dangerous their situation becomes. Because the dreaded mating sickness has taken hold of her mates… And Samantha feels powerless to protect them.
Can Samantha find a way to tame her magical aversion to her fated mates? Or will their courage to travel the stars in search of her lead to their ultimate demise?
Each month, my lovely friend Kess puts together a Bookfunnel Promo. And every month I try and join it. If you’ve been here for a while you know that Crow Moon is as always, Free! And if you’re stoked about the prospect of Librarian Mate coming out soon, you can take this moment to snatch up Bartender Mate!
Whether you are interested in the book offers, or are just glancing through, take a moment to click the link. It helps me more than you can know!
Bestie Books!
I have some of the worlds best friends, and I’m double lucky, cause they write some truly amazing things. If you haven’t picked up books by these two fantastic authors, you are 100% missing out on some very serious book bliss.
Jolene is the name she uses now - but she's had many names. Joan, Josephine, Johanna...yet she's always been just "Jo" to those she let get close.
Name changes are part of one's existence when one is an intelligence operative - and when one is a vampire.
One of the leading members of SIN - the Supernatural Intelligence Network, Jo spends her days helping to keep supernaturals under the radar of the general public - among other things.
Friendship was easy - but when a friendship becomes something more, Jo is out of her depth. Will she be able to adapt and change? Or will it mark the end of SIN?
Elizabeth, resident tattoo artist at the disreputable Dragon’s Den, was brought up to believe her kind had no place in a crew. Tiger shifters were rogue predators and ridiculous notions like fated mates were relegated to childhood fantasies... about as likely as a Christmas miracle.
So when two rough and tumble bikers crash land into her life a few days before the holiday--claiming to be her mates and bringing with them a whole lot of trouble in the form of the notorious Vipers Motorcycle Club--Elizabeth is going to have to decide.
Is she ready to dig her claws in and fight for her own happily ever after with a crew and her mates? Or is Lady Fate just messing with her one last time before she hits the road?

Book Boyfriend
Mama told me to use my magic responsibly. Grandmama told me that magic worked in threes. But as I flipped through the ancient tome of family spells, I was over that shit. What use was magic if I couldn’t heal my own fucking broken heart? I could handle a little backlash, it couldn’t hurt more than the pain that was thudding in my chest with each heartbeat.
My fingers tripped over the pages, skimming down the paragraphs and over lists of ingredients and requirements for each spell. Because somewhere in our family's long history, someone had to have had the same thoughts as me. One of my ancestors must have felt the kind of agony that was plaguing me in waves. It hurt to breathe, to think.
And then there it was. The spell that would end my suffering. That would give me what I had been searching for my entire life and was always just a touch out of my reach. That same thing that all my friends told me was out there if I just looked a little harder.
To manifest your soulmate. It meant bringing them to you, not creating your perfect mate from the pages of your favorite book, but I could work with it. What I had planned was better in fact than your soulmate. My soulmate had failed me, spectacularly. I wasn’t in any hurry to bring that asshole back into my life, no matter how much he crawled–not that he had, fucker hadn’t even called–I was after perfect, undeniable devotion and love, and I knew exactly where I was going to find it. A little creative spellcasting, and some slightly more accessible ingredients would go a long way.
I wiped my face with the back of my hand and took in a deep breath. Fuck assholes who couldn’t be bothered to call back, or even text. I was going to bring my perfect mate to me, and with it would come my happily ever after.
I carefully wrote down each line, using my pocket Latin primer to translate the words one at a time. And then I set about doing my modifications. My pencil scratched over the pages of my notebook, busily jotting down each change, each nuance, conjugating Latin until my eyes crossed and my fingers were numb. When I finally set my work down on the antique wooden desk in my office, I was resolute. I was going to conjure myself a boyfriend, and not just any man. I leafed through the pages of my favorite novel, picking out everything I would need to bring him from the pages and into my bedroom. I was going to breathe life into my book boyfriend.
Sweat poured into my eyes as magic worked through me. My throat was raw and bleeding from screaming to the heavens to hear my calls, and I was just about to give up, to let go of the power that had flooded through my apartment, when thunder crashed and the candles blew out. Sucking in breath I waited in the silence for the backlash of an enchantment gone wrong, when a voice parted the darkness.
“What the fuck happened.”
The growling words brought gooseflesh to my skin, it couldn't have worked, could it? The pull had been intense and the power erratic and impossible to mold, but there was no denying the masculine presence in my bedroom. I reached out and carefully to pull a match from the box and struck it on the side, lighting one of my many candles. Blue-green eyes met mine from across my worktable, the intensity burning down to my soul.
“Did you conjure me, little witch?” The corner of his lips ticked up, and a fire ignited in me. “Clever girl.”
“You’re perfect,” I breathed, not sure what else to say. He was exactly as I had imagined him, powerful build, strong jaw, and those eyes. Nothing was better than the turquoise orbs that had come to life under my fingers as I created him, nothing except looking into the deep pools themselves. “Welcome to the real world, Caleb.”
“You’re the perfect one, mate.”
